Next Ivy League Club Event: March 19th Luncheon—Jason Ettore, The Sarasota Ballet
Jason Ettore is the Director of Marketing at the Sarasota Ballet. He has held several artistic and administrative positions during his tenure at the Ballet. Since 1990, the mission of The Sarasota Ballet has been enriching lives, captivating emotions, and strengthening the community through the art of dance. Under the leadership of Director Iain Webb and Assistant Director Margaret Barbieri, The Sarasota Ballet has received national and international recognition for its diverse repertoire of rarely performed ballets. The Company’s expanded repertoire includes works by world-renowned choreographers such as Sir Frederick Ashton and George Balanchine. The Sarasota Ballet has been invited to perform twice at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and at numerous national festivals and venues. Jason’s talk will focus on the history of The Sarasota Ballet and its mission to bring dance to the greater Sarasota community.
SPRING NIGHT AT THE OPERA—Turandot, Friday, March 15, 2019 at 7:30PM
This spring’s Night at the Sarasota Opera will be Friday, March 15 at 7:30pm for a performance of Puccini’s Turandot. A classic story, in exile Prince Calef wanders outside the Imperial Chinese Palace where any man seeking the love of Princess Turandot must answer three riddles. If successful, the reward is Turandot’s hand—otherwise execution. For this event, an optional pre-opera dinner at the Bijou Café’s private dining room will begin at 5PM. Order individually from the standard menu. A speaker from the Opera will give a short preview of the performance during dessert.

Friday May 10th - All-Ivy “Young” Alumni Event—“Pops” Concert, Friday, May 10, 7:30-10PM
The Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn and Princeton Clubs invite all Ivy League “young” alumni, Classes 1980-2018 and their guests, to an All-Ivy Friends and Family Event at the “Pops” Concert at Ed Smith Stadium. Gates and concessions open at 6PM. Brief talk at 7:35PM featuring Gordon Greenfield, COO of Sarasota Orchestra. Concert begins at 8PM followed by fireworks display.
